This account is ideal for sole proprietors and traders who operate blow the mandatory tax registration requirements. The Sole Trader Account allows traders to segregate their business activity from their individual income and to establish a banking history, which is important for lending purposes.

The Call Account is targeted at small and medium enterprises that need to save for a rainy day or preserve funds from surplus cash. It also allows them to save for buying vehicles, equipment, or business premises.

Our account-opening requirements include, but not limited to, the following:

For sole proprietors (sole traders)

• Valid identity document or card, or passport (with a passport-sized photo).
• Trader’s licence or registration certificate.
• Tax clearance certificate.
• Resident and work permit for temporary residents (foreign businesspeople residing in Lesotho ONLY).
• Latest six months’ bank statements (from current bankers).
• Proof of trading address (lease, sub-lease, rental agreement, chief declaration or utility bill).
• Proof of residential address (lease, sub-lease, rental agreement, chief declaration or utility bill).

For companies - proprietor limited and close corporations, i.e. (Pty) Ltd and CC

• Company extracts.
• Certificate of incorporation.
• Valid trader’s licence.
• Valid tax clearance.
• Proof of trading address (lease, sub-lease, rental agreement, chief declaration, or utility bill).
• Board resolution regarding authority to open account with full list of members (signed by appointed director or members stating signatories and signing arrangement).
• Valid identity document(s) or card(s) or passports of members or directors (with a passport-sized photo).
• Proof of residential address of directors or members (lease, sub-lease, rental agreement, chief declaration, or utility bill).
• Latest six months’ bank statements (from current bankers).
